The mistery of Kryptos!! can u be the first to solve it?

Kryptos

Kryptos is a mysterious encrypted sculpturedesigned by artist Jim Sanborn which sits right outside the headquarters of the CIA in Langley, Va. It's so mysterious, in fact, that first three inscriptions say here). In 2006 Sanborn let slip that there are clues in the first inscriptions to the last one, and in 2010 he released another clue: the Letters 64-69 NYPVTT in part 4 encode the text BERLIN.

Think you have what it takes to solve it?

Voynich Manuscript

Voynich Manuscript

Named after the Polish-American antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich, who acquired it in 1912, the Voynich Manuscript is a detailed 240-page book written in a language or script that is completely unknown. Its pages are also filled with colorful drawings of strange diagrams, odd events and plants that do not seem to match any known species, adding to the intrigue of the document and the difficulty of deciphering it. The original author of the manuscript remains unknown, but carbon dating has revealed that its pages were made sometime between 1404 and 1438. It has been called "the world's most mysterious manuscript."

Theories abound about the origin and nature of the manuscript. Some believe it was meant to be a pharmacopoeia, to address topics in medieval or early modern medicine. Many of the pictures of herbs and plants hint that it many have been some kind of textbook for an alchemist. The fact that many diagrams appear to be of astronomical origin, combined with the unidentifiable biological drawings, has even led some fanciful theorists to propose that the book may have an alien origin.

One thing most theorists agree on is that the book is unlikely to be a hoax, given the amount of time, money and detail that would have been required to make it.

Where are the Sodder Children?

Where are the Sodder Children?

 (Charleston Gazette Mailer newspaper)
Fayetteville, West Virginia became home to a great mystery on Christmas Eve in 1945. George and Jeanie Sodder celebrated the holiday season with 9 of their children – a tenth (Joe) was away serving in the military.  George went to bed first that evening – followed by his sons John (23 years old) and George Jr. (16). Meanwhile, Maurice (14), Martha (12), Louis (10), Jennie (8) and Betty (6) begged their mother to allow them to stay up a little longer and play with the toys their sister Marian (17) had bought for them that day. Their mother consented, but took Sylvia (3) up to bed with her.
At midnight the phone rang, a woman asked Jeanie for a man whose name she did not recognize – after Jeanie told her she must have the wrong number, the woman let out a weird laugh and hung up. Jeanie noted that the lights were still on in the house and the doors had not been locked – two things her children wouldn’t have normally left unattended before bed.  As she attempted to fall back to sleep, Jeanie heard a strange thump on the roof and the sound of something rolling, she dismissed this and dozed off.
About a half hour later, smoke started to pour into her bedroom, and being semi-awake already, Jeanie was the first to notice. She opened the door and was horrified to find flames engulfing the next room. She called for her husband to wake up and her daughter Marian grabbed little Sylvia and took off outside.  She then called to the attic where her children were thought to be sleeping – her two oldest sons ran down.
George ran outside barefoot into the snow and realized five of his children were apparently still in the house. Mr. Sodder smashed a window to try and gain entry and sliced his arm in the process.  Inside all he could see was smoke and flames engulfing the lower house quarters. He ran to the rain barrel to grab a pail of water and found the water frozen.  Next he looked for his ladder that was always placed in the same location – and found no ladder there, much to his bewilderment.  Desperate, George attempted to climb the exterior of the inflamed house by hand and failed to make any progress.  Finally he and his sons tried to start the family’s trucks in order to pull them up to the house to attempt to gain entry – but the engines wouldn’t start on this bitterly cold night.
Meanwhile one of the kids ran to a neighbor’s house to call the fire department and the phone operator couldn’t be reached. Eventually the fire department was reached but since this was a small operation, each fire fighter had to be roused individually from their home and help didn’t arrive until the morning despite the fact that the fire station was only two and a half miles away from the Sodder house.  George and Jeannie had to watch helplessly as the fire collapsed their entire home into the shell of the basement within 45 minutes.
 The missing kids:

Bizarre rumors and happenings:
A man was discovered stealing from the Sodder’s garage as the fire was unfolding, and he had also apparently stolen the family’s ladder in order to try and cut their power lines, but he cut the phone lineinstead by mistake.  Oddly enough, the man was never considered a serious suspect for arson.  He paid a fine for his actions and that was the end of that.
The fire department finally arrived in the daylight and sprayed down the still smoldering ash where the Sodder house once stood.  A mere two hour investigation was done – the police determined the fire was started via faulty wiring – George argued that couldn’t be as he had recently had the wiring redone and the lights remained on during the fire.  Months later the police rescinded their stance.
John Sodder told police that morning that he had shaken his now missing siblings awake, before running from his attic bedroom.  His parents eventually came to believe that he lied about doing so out of guilt for not having saved his siblings from their fiery end.   Over the years, John was the one survivor of that night who just wanted his family to let it go and move along – survivor’s guilt?
A few bones and internal organs were supposedly found by the investigators, but the family was supposedly never told – even though years later Jeanie’s brother would claim to have witnessed them himself.  After a very brief search, the authorities told the Sodders that it was Christmas and that they would come back to investigate more thoroughly at a later date.   When they did not return for several days, a grief stricken George bulldozed several feet of dirt onto the ashes and planned on planting flowers there as a shrine to his apparently dead children.
Months later, George was told by the fire chief that they had found internal organs and that the chief had personally buried them in a box at the fire site.  George and a private investigator went to the site with the chief, who dug up a box which contained a liver.  They took it to a coroner, who told them it was a relatively fresh beef liver.  Covering up for shoddy police work?
Over the next few months and years, the family started to hear reports that their five missing kids may have not perished in the fire:
A report came in that people had witnessed several kids in a taxi cab on the road next to the fire – eventually it was determined that a local bar’s patrons had heard of the fire and requested a ride over to the site in order to watch the mayhem unfold.  So that story was debunked.
Not so easily debunked was a bus driver who witnessed “fire balls” being thrown onto the roof of the house prior to the fire starting. Further credence to his sighting came that Spring when young Sylvia found a hard green rubber “shell” near the house site.  The family asked a military friend of theirs and he felt it was an explosive device, similar to a napalm bomb.
The strange midnight phone call was looked into, with some speculating it was somebody who knew that an arson was about to be attempted and wanted to wake the family.  The woman was eventually found and it was determined to simply be a wrong number.
Another bizarre aspect to the case was an insurance agent who stopped by months before to attempt to sell life insurance to the Sodders.  He was told the family wasn’t interested and then angrily warned George about his political leanings by saying “Your goddamn house is going up in smoke, and your children are going to be destroyed. You are going to be paid for the dirty remarks you have been making about Mussolini.” George was very vocal within the local Italian community over his dislike of the Italian ruler. (George was an immigrant from Italy.)  The same man who offered these threats was on the coroner’s jury which ruled the Sodder house fire to be accidental.
A stranger to the area also paid the Sodders a visit a few months before the fire.  Initially he was inquiring about some hauling work and then oddly enough made his way to the Sodders fuse box unprompted and started looking at the wiring and told Mr. Sodder that there will be a fire.
A few days before the fire, an unknown man was seen watching the kids from his car as they arrived home from school.  The man and his car were reported to have been seen several times sitting along the nearby highway. His identity or relevance to the case remain unknown.
With all the questions surrounding the case and the authority’s lackluster search for remains in the immediate aftermath of fire led to the family requesting and receiving an excavation of the house site in 1949, in order to attempt to find bones and settle once and for all if the kids died in the fire or were somehow kidnapped beforehand.   The excavation search was led by Oscar Hunter, a well-regarded pathologist. Hunter said that he expected to find large bones and thus the crew did not “screen” the soil.  His expert opinion was that the fire was not intense enough to have incinerated bones thoroughly. Hunter was successful at locating some vertebrae at the house site but the bones were determined to belong to a person between 16-22 years old and the bones showed no exposure to fire!  The oldest missing child was only 14 years old.  It is believed that the vertebrae found were brought in to the scene accidentally when George hauled the dirt in to bury the house a few days after the fire.  What unfortunate soul would up in a dirt mound is also unknown. A letter did come into the local detective agency months later that claimed a grave was dug up in a nearby cemetery to supply the bones.
Mama Sodder did her own experiments with pork and chicken bones in the family’s stove and could never incinerate them. She also read a report of another local house that burnt to the ground and seven full skeletons were found in the remains – a fact that bothered her greatly and fueled her suspicions of foul play further.
The family became so compelled to find the truth and perhaps blinded by grief that even their own relatives came under suspicion.  The Sodders had Jeanie’s brother investigated in Florida and he had to prove that his children were actually his own. The family also investigated reports of the children being seen in a Mexican border town and George made a trip to New York after seeing a picture in a magazine of a girl in a ballet class that he felt looked like one of his missing daughters.  He was not allowed access to the girl.
Two years after the fire, a hotel owner named Ida Crutchfield heard of the missing kids via a newspaper article and five years after that finally contacted the family to tell them she believed the children were at her motel shortly after the fire, accompanied by two Italian men.  Most consider her story to be not credible enough to warrant serious consideration.
In one last ditch attempt to strum up leads, the Sodders put up a billboard at the fire site six years after the fire that featured a picture of each of their missing children and an account of the incident along with a $5,000 reward for the recovery of any or all of the children.
A detective magazine ran a piece on the incident in 1968 and that led to one final baffling piece of the mystery.  A few months after the article came out, Mrs. Sodder received a letter postmarked from Kentucky that contained a picture of a young man with “Louis Sodder. I love brother Frankie. Ilil Boys. A90132 or 35” written on to the back.  Most took this to be a hoax brought on by the article reviving the case, but Mrs. Sodder took it as a sign that her children were still alive – somewhere. Speculation abounds as to what the rest of the message means.  The Sodders hired another private detective to research this lead, who apparently headed for Kentucky and was never heard from again.
When you weigh all the available evidence, this appears to be a conspiracy of arson – not kidnapping. Between the eyewitness who saw the “fireballs” being tossed on the roof to the strange warnings that came from the two separate men about a probably fire forthcoming.  Not to forget the eerie stranger apparently watching the children in the weeks before the fire.
As far as what became of the children, odds are they probably suffered smoke inhalation after being awoken by their brother and collapsed before they could get out of the house.  They were then swallowed up when the home collapsed upon itself and their bodies incinerated over the next 8 hours before the fire fighters arrived.  Odds are the police (and the kids uncle) did see remains that morning, and tried to spare the Sodders more grief on an already horrible Christmas morning by not showing them the entrails of their children.   The bulldozing of several feet of dirt on the house several days later then insured that the bodies wouldn’t be found properly without a major excavation.
The heart broken parents then took all the strange happenings before and during the fire as a sign that their children disappeared and not the more likely scenario that they simply burnt up.  Even after saying all that, there is part of me that is bothered that the children who stayed awake that night were the ones who ended up missing – especially since their mother claims that the kids left the lights on and the door unlocked prior to apparently climbing into bed.

Space Mysteries 2013

A space object of unknown origin called 1991 VG is floating around the heavens above.
Its Earth-like orbit and fast fluctuations in brightness suggest that the 30-foot entity isn’t simply an asteroid or remnant from the space age, as was initially assumed.
About 20 years ago, the object made a close approach to Earth that some believe was indicative of a controlled encounter rather than a random encounter. Is 1991 VG an alien probe as these people have suggested? We’ll have to wait about five years for even a chance at the answer. The object is currently too far from our planet to investigate. However, if the mysterious body stays on the same path, it should approach Earth again in 2017.

Mystery on Mars: Scientists baffled after rock suddenly appears out of nowhere in front of Opportunity rover
Opportunity rover hasn’t moved in over a month as it awaits better weather

Nasa’s Opportunity rover has spotted a rock that seems to have appeared out of nowhere, leaving mission engineers scratching their heads.
The obstacle, which is about the size of a doughnut but has been given the rather grand title of “Pinnacle Island”, popped up in front of the rover in early January 2014. A photo taken on sol 3528 of the mission shows bare bedrock, but on sol 3540, the rock had suddenly appeared.
20140119-183223.jpg
Experts said they were “completely confused” by both the origins and makeup of the object, which is currently being investigated by Opportunity’s various measuring instruments.
Astronomers noticed the new rock had “appeared” without any explanation on an outcrop which had been empty just days earlier. The rover has been stuck photographing the same region of Mars for more than a month due tobad weather, with scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California monitoring the images it sends.
Nasa issued a Mars status report entitled “encountering a surprise”, and lead Mars Exploration rover scientist Steve Squyres told a JPL event it seems the planet literally “keeps throwing new things at us”.
He said the images, from 12 Martian days apart, were from no more than a couple of weeks ago. “We saw this rock just sitting here. It looks white around the edge in the middle and there’s a low spot in the centre that’s dark red – it looks like a jelly doughnut.
“And it appeared, just plain appeared at that spot – and we haven’t ever driven over that spot.”
Did aliens drop it as a joke to confuse us?

The question really should be: “Who says they’re NOT real?” It’s impossible to find any government official who will flat-out say UFOs or flying saucers are not real. Check out the following quotes.
U.S. Presidents

President John F. Kennedy in 1963
“I’d like to tell the public about the alien situation, but my hands are tied.”
President John F. Kennedy to Bill Holden, steward on Air Force One flying over Germany, summer 1963 When Holden asked Kennedy what he thought about UFOs.
President Bill Clinton
“If I put you over at (The Dept. of) Justice, I want you to find out two things;
1. Who killed JFK.
2. The truth about UFOs.
President Bill Clinton to Webb Hubbell shortly after Clinton had been elected to his first term.

Ronald Reagan
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Forty-second Session, September 21, 1987:
“I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. And, yet I ask you, is not an alien force already among us?”
When Reagan said “alien force,” he wasn’t talking about the Democrats. I have not only confirmed this quote, I also have it on videotape, and in full color. The fact of alien visitors is well known and openly discussed inside the United Nations.
Speaking of Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev at the Geneva Summit Conference in 1985, Reagan said,
“How much easier his task and mine might be in these meetings we hold if suddenly there was a threat to this world from another species from another planet outside in the universe. We’d forget all the little local differences that we have between our countries, and we would find out once and for all that we really are all human beings here on this earth together.”
President Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter
Former President Jimmy Carter had a dramatic UFO experience when he was running for president. On his way to a two-day religious conference Carter saw a UFO. He and his entourage were so disturbed by the experience that they spent the next two days discussing UFOs and extraterrestrials instead of the planned conference agenda.
“It was the darndest thing I’ve ever seen,” said Carter. “It was big, it was very bright, it changed colors and it was about the size of the moon. We watched it for ten minutes, but none of us could figure out what it was. One thing’s for sure, I’ll never make fun of people who say they’ve seen unidentified flying objects in the sky.”
Although he touted himself as a humble “peanut farmer,” Carter was a sophisticated observer. He was a graduate in nuclear physics and served as an officer on U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. Carter later declared: “If I become president, I’ll make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public and scientists.”
In 1977, after Carter had been elected president and tried to open the UFO files, he was told by the heads of the intelligence agencies that he, as president, did not have a high enough security clearance to even SEE the files! The intelligence community had immediately gone to work to prevent Carter from investigating further.
The chief of the Air Force community relations division, Colonel Charles Senn wrote the following in a letter to Lieutenant Duward Crow of NASA: “I sincerely hope that you are successful in preventing reopening of UFO investigations.”
20140120-231910.jpg
Gerald Ford
“In the firm belief that the American public deserves a better explanation than that thus given by the Air Force, I strongly recommend that there be a committee investigation of the UFO phenomenon. I think we owe it to the people to establish credibility regarding UFOs and to produce the greatest possible enlightenment on this subject.”
Written while serving in Congress (in a letter sent to Mendel Rivers, chairman of the Armed Services Committee) March 28, 1966.
President Harry Truman
Harry Truman
President Harry Truman formed the highly secret group (code named MJ-12) which stood for Majestic-12. The sole purpose of this group was to investigate UFOs and report their findings to the president. Majestic-12 was established by a special executive order of President Truman on September 24, 1947, three months after the crash at Roswell, New Mexico.
A briefing document describing the group for incoming president Dwight Eisenhower was leaked and is now available to almost anyone. I have included it in the Documents section of this website. The government denies the existence of such a group or document. The authenticity of the document cannot be proven, but the reality and the purpose of MJ-12 has been confirmed with many high-level sources over the years.
“I can assure you that flying saucers, given that they exist, are not constructed by any power on earth.”

And what about the CIA?

Victor Marchetti

CIA (Central Intelligence Agency)
“We have indeed been contacted, perhaps even visited by extraterrestrial beings and the U.S. government, in collusion with the other national powers of the earth, is determined to keep this information from the general public. The purpose of the international conspiracy is to maintain a workable stability among the nations of the world and for them, in turn, to retain institutional control over their respective populations. Thus, for these governments to admit there are beings from outer space … with mentalities and technological capabilities obviously far superior to ours, could, once fully perceived by the average person, erode the foundations of the earth’s traditional power structure.”
Victor Marchetti
former Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the CIA,
1979

“It is time for the truth to be brought out in open congressional hearings. Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense. To hide the facts, the Air Force has silenced its personnel through the issuance of a regulation.”
Vice Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter
former Director of the CIA (1947-1950), member of MJ-12

What about the military ?

20140120-232706.jpg
General George C. Marshall
“The United States has recovered UFOs and their occupants. The UFOs were from a different planet and they were friendly. They have been hovering over defense facilities and airports. The U.S. authorities were convinced they had nothing to fear from them. The U.S. wanted people to concentrate on the real menace, communism, and not be distracted by the visitors from space. There has actually been contact with the men in the UFOs and there have been landings.”
General George C. Marshall
U.S. Army Chief of Staff in World War II; Secretary of State, 1947
(as told to Dr. Rolf Alexander)
1951

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)

“I am convinced, based upon my research and the individuals with whom I have had contact within the U.S.intelligence community that the U.S. government does indeed have craft that meets the description of many UFO reports.”

Circleville is a small city in Ohio that has a population of over 13,000. Its biggest event is the annual Circleville Pumpkin Show. It is also the home of a mysterious letter writer known as the Circleville Letter Writer. Starting in 1976 residents of Circleville began receiving mysterious, vindictive letters. Thousands of letters, written in block letters were sent to city officials and even normal citizens. One recipient of the letters was school bus driver Mary Gillespie. She received letters accusing her of having an extra-martial affair with a school official. On August 19, 1977 Mary’s husband Ron Gillispie received a phone call seeming to indicate the identity of the writer. He left his house with his gun to confront the writer. He was found dead a short distance from his house. His car was driven off the road and his gun had been fired once. He died as a result of the crash and it is unknown why he fired the gun. It is unclear if it was an accident or murder. Later, while driving her bus, Mary saw signs along her route harassing her. She went to take one down and discovered a booby-trap meant to fire a gun at her. The gun belonged to her former brother-in-law Paul Freshour. Freshour was convicted of attempted murder and was thought to be the Circleville writer. However, while incarcerated the letters continued despite him being in solitary confinement without access to letter writing material and his mail being monitored. He was denied parole because of the letters and received one himself after his parole was denied.

Phobetor And The Oneiroi

Phobetor And The Oneiroi

The Greeks had many different gods to portray different aspects of dreams. And while Morpheus served as the dream messenger, his brother Phobetor was the bringer of nightmares. His name translates from Greek as “to be feared.” Every night, he emerges from the land of eternal darkness as awinged demon to infest the dreams of the living.
The poem Metamorphoses describes Phobetor as a shapeshifter who “forms the beasts and birds and long sliding snakes.” He is the son of Darkness, and is one of the most important figures of the Oneiroi. The Oneiroi are the pantheon of dream gods who live in Erebos, which was part of the Greek underworld. Phobetor’s children are the shapes of nightmares themselves, allowing him to extend his reach to all the sleeping people of the world.

The Ojibwe are a Native American tribe who originally lived near the shores of Lake Superior in the northern United States. According to their own legend, however, their people began on the mythical Turtle Island. There, the Spider Woman, or Asibikaashi, watched over the Ojibwe people. Every morning, she builds a lodge that captures the sun and brings it to her children. Since she’s a spider, the lodge is a spider web, and the morning dew reflects the morning sunlight, “capturing” it.
As the Ojibwe people spread, Asibikaashi was no longer able to watch over every individual, so she allowed the people to build their own lodges—dreamcatchers—through which she would protect them from nightmares. According to the legend, if you hang a dreamcatcher over your bed at night, the good dreams will filter through the holes, but the nightmares will get stuck before they reach your head.

The dream legend of Mara

Mara

In Germanic folklore, a mara is an evil spirit that sits on your chest while you sleep, constricting your air supply and turning your dreams into nightmares. It appears in some form or another in all the Germanic cultures, although the specific name and description change with each language.
Most notably, the English word for the mara is “mare,” which is the origin of the word nightmare. Croatians believe that the mara takes the form of a beautiful woman at night. She visits men in their sleep to torture them and slowly suck away their life force over the course of a decades. In other cultures, a mara is a thick-skinned goblin.
